The brilliancy of mind is not limited by gender

While I try to stay objective to the questions raised by today’s men about what is the significance of women to get into work when they comparatively have less skills and mind (as the men believe), deep down my skin and in my mind, I am fighting a battle with the society and its only for a reason that I am a girl and there are several other just like me fighting for what we deserve, what is our right. If we ask for going out and see the world, build a career and be self reliant financially, so that we can take care of ourselves and our dear ones, are we asking for too much? This is perhaps a strong base to talk with your friends or colleagues of opposite sex and realise how they think of women “the female” in their dictionary which can either be a sex object to satisfy their desire or a home maker who should just take care of home. Did I feel that the whole argument was that since girls start working (mostly forcibly, as they lack the skill and interest to work), they use their feminine characteristics to get into jobs, mostly by seducing the interviewer and take away the jobs of men who could be a better performer. It pities me if you think that girls are taking away your jobs, while in any case in men ruled world, a female competing for any position (mostly technical and managerial roles) with a man of same IQ level, she needs to prove her competency 10 times more effectively to grab the job, just because she is a girl and in our society the logic is that beauty and brain can’t go hand in hand. Only an average looking or ugly one can be a nerd and secure a role and the rest get it just because of their looks. Well, I feel, those who win the positions because of being fairer sex are in a different sector, like customer services, and that too is possible because of the caring and nurturing characteristics of women, because at any given circumstances anyone would prefer to hear soft voice and a beautiful face to welcome rather than a bearded face and a rough voice. Though I wonder if any girl will mind if the receptionist be a man, and at several places I have witnessed men being in the hospitality roles in various large chains of hotels and hospitals and clubs etc, and more interestingly the numbers of such cases are increasingly high for example you can look around and see the number of stewards in your flights.
With no offence to any one and any circumstances, I am forced to believe that no matter how advanced or modernised we have become or claim to have become or perhaps we blame the modernization for such effects (the empowerment of women in society), we taboo a female as an disadvantageous shit…a person or rather a commodity which should be kept within the boundaries of four walls at home and be used like a servant either to do home making or to be sex object for her husband. According to such type of ideology being at home a girl gets everything that she wants, a man, a home, emotional security and other material needs, but is this all she should be expecting to get? Can’t she be passionate about any particular career, can’t she have hobbies like any other boy say in sports, and can’t she wish to study further in her area of expertise just like any other man?
A girl if she thinks she should get out of the world and work because she likes to do it and her male counterparts misuse her or abuse her, it is believed that it’s her fault that she went out because men will obviously use them. So, for this reason should the girl be abolished to work or shouldn’t it be men change their thinking? I am shocked…
You argue that since the time of ancient ages it is followed in our culture that the moment girl reaches her puberty she gets married and gets no options to choose her husband (I say no, the women always had the right to choose the best man and hence we had the system of “swayamwar” where the girl chooses the best man who used to win over the others, in our culture we never had swayamvadhu concept that is the reciprocal of it.). Another argumentation in succession to this was when these practices were followed, the females used to be happy in comparison to girls today who get married late, who work with men, may (please note MAY) have several intimate relationships with more than one man because they don’t get the emotional security. Wait, did we talk about emotional security, how can we say that girls who get married at early ages and are not working are more emotionally secured? The research proves that there is still domestic violence persistency, and a female in such cases is succumbed to be the victim without raising her voice.

I strongly believe that only education can help break the prototype of gender discrimination. Educated women are indispensable to ending gender bias, starting by reducing the poverty that makes discrimination even worse in the developing world. The most basic skills in literacy and arithmetic open up opportunities for better-paying jobs for women. The longer a girl is able to stay in school or indulge in education, the greater her chances to pursue worthwhile employment, higher education, and a life without the hazards of poverty and dependability on anyone.

Women who have had proper schooling are more likely to get married later, survive childbirth, have fewer and healthier children, and make sure their own children complete school and become a better human. They also understand and practice hygiene and nutrition better and are more likely to prevent disease by visiting health care facilities. The UN estimates that for every year a woman spends in primary school, the risk of her child dying prematurely is reduced by 8 percent. Girls’ education also means widespread change for a society. As women get the opportunity to go to school and obtain higher-level jobs, they gain status in their communities. Status translates into the power to influence their families and societies. Bigger changes become possible as girls’ education becomes the cultural norm. Women can’t defend themselves against physical and sexual abuse until they have the influence over and the authority to speak against it without fear. Knowledge and awareness gives that authority.
If I continue writing at this sensitive issue I may end up writing for hours together, but this practice of discrimination and gender biasness needs to be checked. Every human has the right to live the life the way they want and a female is no different. The brilliancy of mind is not limited by gender, the narrowness of it is perhaps an adaptation which can be set free if we really want and aim to prosper together and not by bullying or suppressing the so called weaker and fairer sex.
To all the men in my world; you are perhaps my biggest enemies, but I love you all and need you more because you make me strong at every point you make me feel that I am a woman and trust me I am proud to be a woman.
